I cry for you; the pain, the loss
Our innocence is gone, a shrouded haze
And as the flowers wither
Our beauty is no more
All is lost
Like a bleak remembrance of our solemn past
Time rips away our hope
Forever
All is lost
No life will ever grow
Again
All is lost
And beneath the throne of void
All sympathy is lost
Time will not heal
The wounds we've caused ourselves
And beneath the throne of void
All hope is gone
The scars cut too deep in our flesh
To ever mend
Our voices fade
Silence echoes in our heads
Filled with regrets
Can't be undone
Last sign of appeal
We reach up for the sky
In hope to find
Forgiveness
No more dawn of life to be
Night and day are the same
Endless dark and death to come
Will it be?
Cold void all that remains now
Life and death are the same
No future, no hope, nor dreams
It will be
I mourn for you, your pain and loss
Caused by our foolishness
All swept away
We raped you of your innocence
And ravaged your beauty
All is lost

epic, pastoral doom that yet radiates with the sadness and anguish of the abused. a powerful, moving work - if only the band had a different name... risottoeater

So I can't leave a long enough review to say everything I want. But I will say this, I love this EP. It's a great little follow up to times, and has just enough of a dynamic shift in sound to prove that Smoulder isn't a one trick pony with their first album's formula. This one really plays up the 70s prog aspects (DUST and Manilla Road influences definitely shine through even harder here). It's still Smoulder, don't get me wrong. Just a different side in some ways, all of which are good. playfulpooka

If Elric had a soundtrack it would be this. It's everything you want from a epic metal album. Like a hot poker in the eye, but in a good way. Scott Malthouse
