Sunlight fades away Black lightning from the sky
Souls cry out in pain Darkened gods in reign
Eternal night unleashed Corpses rot away
No flowers no trees no life Swallowed in darkness
Myriads of flies Dying gathered on piles
A cold tide of tears Now dried leaving scars
A tranquil planet left behind
Mankind was born to destroy
Creation of all our needs Calculated fate
Evolutions sighs among screaming faces
Countdown is set in reverse
The passed has fallen to oblivion
Next cycle has already begun

epic, pastoral doom that yet radiates with the sadness and anguish of the abused. a powerful, moving work - if only the band had a different name... risottoeater

So I can't leave a long enough review to say everything I want. But I will say this, I love this EP. It's a great little follow up to times, and has just enough of a dynamic shift in sound to prove that Smoulder isn't a one trick pony with their first album's formula. This one really plays up the 70s prog aspects (DUST and Manilla Road influences definitely shine through even harder here). It's still Smoulder, don't get me wrong. Just a different side in some ways, all of which are good. playfulpooka
